Glamping Show Americas Conversation to Gulf Coast Success: How Gulf Breeze Found Their Right Cabin Partner
When Nick Reis of RREAF Holdings first met Lancaster Log Cabins owner Dan Smucker at Glamping Show Americas, it wasn’t just the cabins that made an impression.
At the time, Nick was evaluating accommodations for Gulf Breeze RV Resort, an easy, breezy Gulf Shores getaway in Alabama. As he explored options, he found himself returning to conversations with Dan.
A Relationship Built on Trust and Quality
“The main reason we went with Lancaster Log Cabins was Dan,” Nick said. “He was super engaging and genuinely interested in our business and our business model. He wasn’t just trying to make a sale. He asked thoughtful questions and really wanted to understand what we were trying to accomplish.”
Initially, Nick considered ultra-high-end park model units, but market realities led the team to seek a more cost-efficient solution without sacrificing quality. Lancaster Log Cabins quickly stood out.
“Other products looked cheap,” he explained. “With Lancaster, you could immediately tell the cabins were solid wood and built with quality materials. They offered a really good product at a reasonable price.”
Collaboration Beyond the Sale
What began as discussions about customizing a cabin for the beachfront Gulf Breeze RV Resort evolved into a collaborative design process. Nick credits Dan’s willingness to listen, adapt and accommodate requested changes as a key factor in the project’s success.
“I’m a high-maintenance customer,” Nick laughed. “But Dan was so good to work with. We came up with a design that worked for us, and he agreed to all the changes we needed.”
Beyond the product itself, shared values helped strengthen the partnership.
“The values and morals behind the company aligned with ours,” Nick said. “You can see that in the way Dan does business. There’s a level of integrity and trust that’s important to us.”
From One Resort to Future Opportunities
Today, the cabins are generating strong feedback from guests, with visitors consistently commenting on the quality and craftsmanship. As RREEF and its hospitality brands continue expanding their outdoor lodging portfolio, Lancaster remains a trusted partner.
“We’re already working with Dan on additional projects,” Nick said. “It’s still early, but we see a lot of opportunity moving forward. The quality has been excellent, the experience has been excellent and we’re excited about what’s next.”
