Rather than settling, he teamed up with his daughter Kennedy, a talented designer, to create something entirely new.

Unlike massive public companies, MDU Homes is a family business laser-focused on the glamping market. They leverage under-utilized manufacturing capacity from larger companies like Champion but apply it to a very specific purpose: building exclusive, luxury glamping units you won’t find anywhere else.
The name Modern Dwelling Units™ is more than a label.iI’s a trademarked brand and a commitment to raising the bar in outdoor hospitality. MDU Homes is rebranding manufactured housing for the glamping world, offering products that deliver the durability of manufactured construction without the look or stigma of traditional mobile homes.

Jeff’s three decades in the manufactured housing business, combined with his role on the board of the Texas Manufactured Housing Association (TMHA), gives him unique insight into what both operators and consumers are asking for. Kennedy brings a modern design eye, ensuring each unit feels stylish, functional and inviting.
Their research shows that while manufactured housing products have historically captured only 7–10% of the market, travelers are craving something that bridges the gap between manufactured durability and the aesthetics of a traditional home. By creating exclusive MDU units tailored specifically for glamping, Jeff and Kennedy are aiming for that 90%+ of the market that values comfort, beauty and a sense of home.
